The end of April / beginning of May sees some of our biggest filmmakers making pilgrimages to film festivals across the globe!
On April 28th, director and special makeup effects whiz Yoshihiro Nishimura will travel first to New York City to present HELLDRIVER – along with co-star Eihi Shiina – at the Japan Society, for a screening co-sponsored by Subway Cinema and marking the inaugural show of the “Splatter Matters” benefit tour presented by Sushi Typhoon and Rue Morgue magazine.
On April 29th, Nishimura and Shiina will travel to the Dallas area for the Texas Frightmare Weekend horror convention, where HELLDRIVER and other films will be screened and the pair will sign autographs. All proceeds will be donated to earthquake relief charities.
On April 30th & May 1st, writer / director Noboru Iguchi will be in Frankfurt, Germany, for the Nippon Connection film festival and their screenings of KARATE-ROBO ZABORGAR. This marks Iguchi’s first trip to Germany, and only his third trip to Europe!
And finally, on May 7th, director and star Tak Sakaguchi will present the European premiere of his YAKUZA WEAPON at the Terracotta Far East Film Festival in London!
Congratulations to all our filmmakers, and don’t forget to have some fun while you’re overseas! Thanks also to the audiences in three countries who will come out and show their support.

Our friends at Sci-Fi Japan have posted some background info and photos from Noboru Iguchi‘s KARATE-ROBO ZABORGAR, which incidentally had its World Premiere recently at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Iguchi is still in Holland, heading home to Tokyo on Monday the 31st.
