Do you UStream? UStream is a popular live streaming / social networking site in Japan, but not so frequently used in North America. The domestic Japanese Sushi Typhoon promotions team have been hard at work doing live-streaming of onstage Q&As from our “Sushi Typhoon Matsuri” in Tokyo, and have also been conducting wall-to-wall lobby interviews with filmmakers and assorted other people during the shows. All in Japanese, of course, but occasionally with a few exceptions or special foreigner guests. They’re well worth watching, at any rate, simply to experience the crazed, wild enthusiasm of the team on their home turf.
If you want to watch live UStream footage from Ginza’s Cine-Pathos, bookmark this link. For a catalog of archived UStream footage, check here.
The Tokyo portion of the Sushi Typhoon Matsuri lasts until August 19th, so there are only a few remaining events. US schedules are a bit difficult because of the time difference, these will all be archived for more convenient viewing.

A Finnish blogger living in Hokkaido has written extensively about us, and we’re very happy about it!
Surf over to Tokyo-based journalist, translator & screenwriter Jason Gray‘s blog here to find an excellent interview with our own Yoshiki Takahashi, co-writer of Sion Sono’s COLD FISH, as well as designer of all Sushi Typhoon posters and graphic materials, magazine editor, writer, film expert, title animation creator, and so much more. Yoshiki goes into detail about the genesis of COLD FISH, and how much the fictionalized story resembles the gory true crime that inspired it!
Website SciFi Japan takes a closer look at Sion Sono‘s COLD FISH, due to be released later this month in Japan and later this year in North America.

From its London Film Festival screening, here are two reviews of Sion Sono’s COLD FISH.
Derek Elley covers MUTANT GIRLS SQUAD, calling it “pretty girls doing awful things to ugly men,” which sounds like a rave to us! Be sure to check out his earlier reviews of COLD FISH and ALIEN VS NINJA, too. Thanks, Film Business Asia!
